Assalamualaikum

For Emak's birthday this year, we decided to go to Sungkai to experience the famous Felda Hot Spring. Emak loves secluded kampung area and hot springs, so she loves the idea. She was very excited. She woke everyone up early in the morning and demanded us to get ready. Of course we didn't listen haha. I mean, we live in Rawang so Sungkai is like, sekangkang kera je and we can only checked in at 3 pm so to our lazy self logic, "nak buat ape lama2 kat Sungkai?". After a lot of negotiation, we leave the house at 10am. Even that is too early for me. If it were up to me, i'll leave at 12pm and reach just in time for lunch :P

Nasi Bamboo Sungai Klah

If I'm being honest, I was skeptical. Normally, all this viral and famous places are only "indah khabar dari rasa," but this one, at least for the dishes that we took, they were good. (Disclaimer: I am not a picky eater and quite easy to please). My favourite was the daging masak kicap kot nama dia, that's the best for me, although to everyone in my family, it's on the saltier side. You can't blame a girl for liking kicap :P

Ya memang ramai orang sebegini ya
How to go about the restaurant:
1. Find a seat first.
2. Queue for food. There are multiple stations. The grill section, the lauk section, and the rice section. Nak cepat, divide and conquer, apa guna adik ramai2 :P.
3. Kalau ada adik lebih lagi, suruh beratur dekat tempat air pulak. Air boleh beli dalam jug atau individual cup.
4. Kalau anda anak sulung, sit back and enjoyyy.

Felda Residence Hot Spring

When I wanted to book a villa back in July, the villas were all fully booked till December. So dah alang-alang, I booked it on February terus for Emak's birthday....but when we arrived, a lot of the villas were empty? Not sure why in the website it's fully booked though.

Our villa comes with a private outdoor jacuzzi, which we love, but in the morning, while we were driving around the area, we saw this one villa with the jacuzzi right in the middle of the house rather than outside, damn that's cooler! (Other people's thing always look better -__________-)

There is two big pools in the area. One is the hot water and the other is cold water.

This is the cold water pool. Why no picture of the hot one you asked, it's hot, of course you won't find me there.

There is this area called Laman Terapi. The path is made out of small pebbles, the one that Faiz stepped on in the picture. Of course, you won't find me here either, it's so painful for a person with low pain tolerance like me. -______-

You could boil eggs in the hot spring too if you don't mind right beside this, orang tengah celup celup kaki

Speaking of celup-celup kaki, I have this small foot corn in between my toes, I had it since Redang which is like one year plus ago, I am not so sure what is the science behind it, because I celup my kaki a lot in the hot water around the area, it fall off guys!!! I no longer has the foot corn! Now my feet is smooth like a baby. gittew.

***

No wifi turns out to be a blessing in disguise. All we did that two days in Sungkai were talking. All of us would just gather at the jacuzzi, berendam or celup2 kaki je, and talk. I remember feeling really peaceful and happy during the trip. Something that I don't realise until the trip, with the existence of wifi, we could all be at the same space but not communicating to one another. Back at home for example, though all of us were in the living room, Me and Dikyah would be on our ipads watching k-dramas or variety shows, Faiz would play games on his phone, Emak would be on her phone too, browsing facebook and replying to her group whatsapp and Farid, he'll be watching the tv. None of us talk! -__________-

Of course as soon as we get back, we resume our normal routine, unfortunately, vacation mood doesn't last very long lol, but it's still nice to take a pause, once in a while, and just chill, with each other.  I guess this is me saying, geng, nak pergi mana pulak lepas ni?

EMAK'S BIRTHDAY TRIP

Sunday, March 8, 2020

Assalamualaikum

Our second stop of the day was,

Farm Tomita
Open daily 8.30am to 6pm (summer)
Entry fee: None!
Map code: 349 276 804*00

p/s: All photos are unedited (except for grid) because I am a lazy blogger :'P

More flowers!!! haha. This is where Faiz started to complain "dah dah la kot tengok bunga. Instagram feed Faiz asyik bunga jeeee," #priority.

Although they all look the same to Faiz -____-, Farm Tomita is different because the main theme here is lavender,

Don't judge >.< we're not the only one who took this kind of shot lol. Almost everyone ran to the lavender field from the ice cream shop to take this kind of pictures, everyone was so kepoh it's hillarious plus it didn't help that these ice creams melt easily so you have to be fast and efficient. All in all, these ice creams served their intended purpose that day, for instagram lol -______- The taste? Like lavender. haha. One thing for sure, after you eat them, your breath will smell nice =P

Honestly, I like Farm Tomita better than Shikisai No Oka. Tomita is cosier. There is a lot of trees and benches that you could sit on and just chill and relax whereas Shikisai No Oka, it's a huge flower farm without any shade. So kalau panas, memang terbakar lah anda disitu. Plus, there is a lot of restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops around here that you can check out.

That's all for now, till the next post. <3

Trip Vlog > HOKKAIDO 2019 (SUMMER) - TRAVELOGUE

[Warning: all pictures are unedited because I've reached this level of laziness]

Assalamualaikum

A friend recently asked me, "tergamak you pergi Jepun time summer? kan panas gilaaa,". Tokyo yes, memang boleh terbakar dekat situ, but not Hokkaido...I mean, have you seen my vlog? My scarf was really happy flipping all over the place. The temperature averages from 10-15 degree Celsius, the wind keeps blowing, it rained in some of the days, sejuk gilos okay. I can't believe it was summer. I kept thinking, if this is how it's like during summer, no wonder the area becomes a ski resorts in winter.

So when I proposed Hokkaido to my family, they were like, "ada ape dekat Hokkaido musim2 panas ni?" haaaaaa, this is what people came to Hokkaido for,

I wish I edited this to bring out the colours but lazy > editing
Our first stop of the day was,

Shikisai No Oka
Open daily 9am to 6pm (summer)
Entry fee: Compulsory donation of 200 yen per person
Map code: 349 701 188*52

We took the buggies to explore places. The decision to take the buggies was mine and supported by Emak because I am her favourite child :P but Dik Yah kept telling me off. She's like "500 yen??? Jalan je lahhhh bukan jauh sangat pun," and I was like, I did my research okay. This place is huge, you need the buggies to cover all areas! Little did everyone knows, by research, I really just meant watching Battle Trip. In the episode, the area looks huge, and since they took the buggies, I have to take the buggies too!

Is it a wise decision? Well, not really. -_________- At least not for anyone without any major health issue. The area is huge, sure, but not justifiable with 500 yen. I. couldn't. hear. the. end. of. it. once. Dik. Yah. started. to. bebel.

***

The area is really really pretty....and instagramable too, I really would just post them all on my instagram and I don't think anyone will condemn me for it, why? because it's pretty! But if I am being completely honest, this is all staged-pretty. I mean, it's not something natural? It's something arranged my human. I am okay with that I enjoyed my time there but just manage your expectation is all I'm saying okay? <3

HOKKAIDO 2019 (SUMMER) - DAY 2 BIEI AND FURANO [part 1]

Assalamualaikum

Before the trip, I googled on what to expect at the airport during summer. Several bloggers mentioned that it will be packed and we should expect long queue at the immigration. With that in mind, I set the appointment to pick up our rental car at around 11 am though we landed at 8.25 am. I thought I was a genius for anticipating the unexpected. Little did I know, 1. There was just us and one other plane arriving from somewhere else that morning and 2. Japanese are super efficient everything was fast and smooth. The whole admission process (immigration plus luggage pickup) was settled by 9 am.

Lalu berlemau lemauan lah kami di airport -_______-

***

Our car rental process is also quite a story. When I booked the car, I thought I was really clever and lucky. I mean, RM745 for 6 days that's a steal! It was not until packing time did I realised, I booked a compact car for the 4 of us, for a 6 days trip! I mean, where are we going to put our luggages? So for the 6 days trip, I forced everyone to bring only 20" luggage each except for Faiz. He's only allowed 50L backpack -________-

This was how we store our luggage. 2 luggage at the boot and the others were in the middle of the back passengers seat. Faiz and Dikyah had to cramp with the luggage lol =P Can't believe we survived!

On another note, I would highly recommend the car rental company "Car Rental Hokkaido" for everyone who's travelling to Hokkaido especially if you're from Malaysia travelling with Airasia. Most of us would booked the early flight out because that's the cheapest but almost all car rental companies open at 9 am. Our initial plan was to return the car the night before and booked a cab to go to the airport the next morning but their staffs were such sweethearts, they offered to open one hour early and send us to the airport. awwwww....and I was like "Can you do that? Is it not too much trouble?" and they were like, "It's okay we always open early for our Malaysian customers. Your flight is at 9.35 am right?," They even know the timing nangis lah camni.

The staffs were really friendly. The one that handled us, she explained how to use the navigation system thoroughly, like how to avoid tolls and all, and how to use japan map code. Before Hokkaido, I have nothing else to compare because that's my first time renting a car in Japan, but after our recent Kyushu trip, I was really really thankful for the girl from Car Rental Hokkaido. The Nippon-rent-a-car that we used in Fukuoka guy didn't even tell us to use map code! He didn't even teach us how to search! He's like this is the navigation, this is menu, this is map this is the route and that's it. If it weren't for my earlier experience driving in Hokkaido, I would have a hard time navigating around Kyushu from his vague explanation!

***

Our first and only stop of the day is Hokuryu sunflower village.

Hokuryu Sunflower Village
Open daily 9am to 6pm
Entry fee: No entry fee for general admission.
300 yen admission fee for certain sunflower maze
Map code: 179 840 544*03

Of course I have to include Hokuryu in the trip, sunflower is my favourite flower! My mom, she used to decorate the house with fake sunflowers everywhere; on the table, on the top of the aquarium, on the stair rail, my love for sunflowers might have been because of her. I once attempted to grow one but little did I know sunflowers only bloom once and then they die. While this is a completely natural process, my heart can't take it. I find it so sad that an existing flower has to die for a new one to exist. T-T

But I'm a sunflower, a little funny If I were a rose, maybe you'd want me If I could, I'd change overnight I'd turn into something you'd like But I'm a sunflower, a little funny If I were a rose, maybe you'd pick me But I know you don't have a clue This sunflower's waiting for you Waiting for you
Overall, we had a good time strolling around the farm. :)

The struggle is real  -_______-

Assalamualaikum

First oversea trip with the family! Also my first time being the "organiser". If you've seen the itinerary from my previous trip, it's always either "itinerary prepared by Ayu" or "itinerary prepared by Ain"...almost none were mine because 1. I have serious spending problem so I won't make the trip as budget friendly as it should, 2. I am a lazy traveler so my ideal trip would be just sitting and resting at a spot rather than walking around visiting tourist places.

Staying through to my personality, this is what itinerary prepared by Athirah looks like:

P/S: As usual, amounts stated are for the whole group (the 4 of us) and will be divided at the end to reflect cost per person

It looks like we did a lot right? but if you've been to Hokkaido, you'll know how laid back this itinerary is. We woke up late, everyday we started exploring only after 10 am and we finished everything before dark sebab malas nak sembahyang dekat luar. I haven't change guys don't worry, still a lazy traveler. ='D

Full itinerary and budget > JEJU 2019 (WINTER) - FULL ITINERARY & BUDGET
Trip Vlog > Travelogue

Assalamualaikum

In care you were wondering throughout the series, "Athirah, mana Hallasan?," Well, today is the day. Remember when I told you that we got greedy and were trying to find snow? It was supposed to be snowing that day....but the heck, who are we kidding, it rained since the night before whatever snow left from the past few days had all melted. T_____________T

We tried you know, hiking in the rain, tapi tu lah, kalau setakat bukit pun tak boleh daki apatah lagi gunung. ='( We gave up half way hahahaha. -_______-

(No photos because it was raining heavily)

***

Throughout the trip, we did two things:

1. Crashed the passenger side door. There this big deep scratch, the body of the car was even peeled off the size of old Malaysian ringgit 50 cent.
2. Ran over a parking divider.

What? Don't judge, it was awkward driving on different side.

We're aware of situation 1. So when we returned the car, I tried so hard to cover the first body peel. I opened the door so wide (The peel is in between the front and the back door so it's more visible when the door is shut) I successfully blocked the guy from seeing it.

What we didn't notice is the scratch from situation 2. If we had known that there was a deep scratch, we would have done something about it. The guy caught it. So we had to pay a penalty of 100,000won which we thing is super crazy I mean, yes we scratched the car but fixing that scratch won't cost the company RM 350++ to fix, we know the standard price too! Ayu tried to make a fuss but we are just two weak girls, what can we do, we paid it. The only consolation we gave ourselves is, we were actually paying for both the scratches instead of one because to be honest, the second one is worst and sort of cost about RM300. LOL.

What an experience.

***

With this, I am concluding this Jeju series. <3 Jeju really sets the standard so high for other places now. I don't think I ever feel as calm and contented as I was when I was in Jeju. I really hope we'll met again, in different weather perhaps. Goodbye for now.

JEJU 2019 (WINTER) - DAY 8

Sunday, September 15, 2019

Assalamualaikum

Remember the time when I say that I don't do mornings? Well, surprise surprise, I woke Ayu up on that day!!! Woohooo!! Okay to be honest it was because Ayu has been stressing it out for days > "hari last ni memang kene bangun awal tau," "hari sunrise tu kene bangun pukul 4 pagi ok," "hari ni kene tidur awal esok nak bangun pagi," -_____________- Plus, there has been so many hiccups throughout this trip I don't want to spoil the day.

***

Seongsan Illcubong Sunrise Peak

So, woke up early, checked. Reached the place on time, checked. Physically fit for a hill, NOT. T___________T

The view from above
The peak
The flight of stairs you have to climb to get to the peak
Did I enjoy the climb? Honestly, no. I was so physically not ready for this I panted the whole time, I sweated buckets, almost threw up, almost gave up, almost fainted #drama T______T . In my mind I was like, "macam mana la Amir boleh dukung Ucop sampai atas?" I could never. Dah la diri sendiri dah berat, nak angkat another human being, no thanks. What's embarrassing was, elderly passed by me like it's nothing. fussh fusshhh fushhhhing they went. And I was just 28, apakah ini?

After the whole thing, we went home for breakfast and passed out till evening. -_____________- so bangun bangun je, it's time for sunset! haha.

***

That day was also when this happened.

We decided to check out the store on the foothill and because the sales girls were so nice, they gave us lots of samples + lots of sales were going on, we wanted to shop more but our broke selves slapped us in the face. We brainstormed on how can we shop more without spending more money #priorities and then aha! Let's be personal shoppers! This way, we get to be in the store, get to enjoy the free sample andddd we got paid to shop! Anak sapa la bijak sangat ni. hehe.

However, the thing about impromptu PS moment is, customers came in at different time....and since most of them are our close friends, we don't want to reject them by having deadline for orders.....we went back and forth to the store, three times okay! We we're even the last customer of the day....

***

Seopjikoji

I really love the whole area, It's been so long I forgot why. If I were to guess, it's the feeling the whole area gave me. I didn't do much, I was just staring/looking at things, with just that, I felt calm and content.

JEJU 2019 (WINTER) - DAY 7 (EASTERN JEJU)

Wednesday, September 11, 2019
